About

Pollyena at TNGO.jpg

Pollyena is a multi disciplinary sound artist and educator with roots in the tradition of the symphonic wind band. Her practice today is diverse and explores classical, jazz, rock, punk, no-wave, shoegaze, noise, ambient, free improvisation and the avante-garde.

With a bachelor's degree in music education from Florida State University, Pollyena is versed in a variety of instrumental pedagogical practices such as Orff Shulwerk and Universal Design for Learning. She prefers styles that center the artist inside of the student. Regardless of the nature of your lessons with Pollyena, she hopes you always feel respected in your own legitimacy as an artist.

Further, Pollyena welcomes all students regardless of age, skill level, disability, gender, race, primary language or socio-economic circumstances. Music is for all people; a means to connect with our inner-selves, our community, physics, and the inexplicable.
